Women on board is Harvard Business Review France's new podcast, based on an original idea and presented by Guila Clara Kessous, executive business coach & Unesco artist for peace. In each episode, meet inspiring women who have found their place on the boards of major corporations.
In this first episode, "Messieurs, pensez à vos filles" (Gentlemen, think of your daughters), Muriel Pénicaud, former Minister of Labor, looks back on her career, her "first board", the place of women and the importance of quotas; she also explains what posture and role women should have on boards to succeed in making an impact while managing to blend into the collective: "You're going to have to open doors, windows, minds... challenge, advise and control. It's anything but a posture of action. You have to be in influence and governance, but not in action", she says.
