The reFocus Awards have announced the winners of their World Photo Annual 2024 and awarded Muriel Pénicaud the Bronze Trophy in the Nature category for her photo "Who are you, looking at me?"
With entries from 60 countries, this 2024 edition represented the most diverse and extensive group of candidates to date. This edition celebrates creativity, craftsmanship and visual storytelling. Each winner embodies the unique spirit of photography, allowing viewers to marvel at their mastery of the medium. The fabric of perspectives honored in this year's competition blends vulnerability, empathy and raw emotion, while being triumphant, thrilling and simply breathtaking. This year's prestigious panel of judges included luminaries fromACN News, Getty Images, Phaidon Press, Rizzoli, and many more.
In this context, it's no mean achievement for Muriel Pénicaud to have risen to the top of this extraordinarily talented group thanks to her contribution.
Two other photographic works by Muriel Pénicaud also won awards: an "Honorable Mention" in the Architecture category for her photo "Endless" and for her photo "Family" in the Street category.
